Pathways is the Toastmasters International education programme. It helps you build your communication and leadership skills through a path you choose, made up of projects that you mostly complete by giving speeches at our meetings.
How Pathways is structured
Every path has five levels of increasing complexity:
- Mastering Fundamentals
- Learning Your Style
- Increasing Knowledge
- Building Skills
- Demonstrating Expertise
You progress through the levels by completing the required projects and electives. Find out more on the Toastmasters International Pathways page.
Logging in to Toastmasters International
- Go to the Toastmasters International website and click Login.
- Sign in with your email address and password. When you join, Toastmasters International emails you instructions for setting your password. If you can’t find them, use the password reset option on the login page.
- Once you’re signed in, you’ll see your My Home page.
Choosing your path
Your first path is included in your membership.
- Log in to the Toastmasters International website.
- Select Choose Free Path under My Education and Achievements. (If you’ve chosen a path before, go to the Learning Hub and click Choose Path.)
- Take the short assessment to help you decide, or view all the path options and pick one yourself.
- Confirm your choice. It can take up to 15 minutes for your new path to appear in Base Camp.
Not sure which path suits you? Our VP Education is happy to help.
Working in Base Camp
Base Camp is where you work through your path online.
- Log in to the Toastmasters International website and click Go to Base Camp from My Home or the Learning Hub.
- Select the tile with the name of your path. If you can’t see it, open the Paths & Learning tab.
- Open your current level and work through the projects in order.
- Each speech project comes with an evaluation resource for that project. Share it with your evaluator before your speech so they know what to look for.
When you’re ready to give a project speech, request a speech on ToastHost.
Additional paths
Once you’ve finished your first path, or want to try another, you can enrol in additional paths. Each additional path currently costs $35 USD. See the Toastmasters Education Programs FAQ for current pricing.
Submitting a level completion
When you’ve completed all the projects in a level, submit your level completion in Base Camp. The request goes to our VP Education, who reviews and approves it so your achievement is recognised.
ToastHost and Base Camp
ToastHost doesn’t replace Base Camp. You still complete your Pathways projects in Base Camp. When you finish a project in Base Camp, mark it complete in ToastHost (under My Pathways) so your club record stays up to date, or ask our VP Education to update it for you. See the ToastHost guide: Your Pathways.
