Are YOU in the newsletter? New Leadership Committee and Evaluations Workshop

Three key things you need to know; and then the links

  1. The 2015-16 Newsletter is out, filled with all our award winners and photos from all of our meetings and socials, take a look and celebrate the success of all of our members.
  2. Following our committee election at the last meeting, the roles have been ratified. Lead by our new President Rachel De Cesaro, see page 3 of the newsletter for details of your new City of London Toastmasters committee
  3. Talk the Talk evaluation workshop will replace our normal meeting on Tues 5th July, so far 60 Toastmasters from across London have signed up so it should be an interesting event

21st June Meeting Highlights

Paul opened up the final meeting in his tenure as Club President, for what was a truly Rock n’ Roll year of achievements for the club.

Our Toastmaster this evening was Tom, he has been away for a while due to work and quickly found his feet to lead a tremendous meeting.

Time was monitored by Kylie, who kept us on time throughout the evening.

Hugh was our Table Topics Master, using the theme of politicians in the news as the basis for impromptu speaking for our members and guests.

Leanne was our Topics Evaluator; giving encouragement and insightful feedback to all table topics that had plenty of guests.

Tom introduced our new guests for the evening.

We had 3 great speeches tonight at the start of the second half (their speech evaluators in brackets):

  • Brad – “Toastmasters thus far” – a review of his 13 year history at Toastmasters across 3 continents, plus lessons learned from his journey (Tomasz)
  • Charlotte – “Neverendum” – A project #6 speech discussing her experiences in the political campaigns, and whether we have reach peak referendum (Swati)
  • Ga Lok – “Premature Actions” – An analogy of the EU referendum and going to the gym (Paul)

Congratulations this evening to Graham on his story of falling asleep during the Queen’s speech and should should of spoken about the Ashes who won best Table Topic; Tomasz who was also GE tonight and gave fantastic feedback won best evaluator, Brad on his Toastmasters journey won best speaker.

The next meeting on Tues 5th July, Ga Lok will be delivering his evaluation workshop. Learn how to deliver great feedback in speeches and professionally. 7th June Meeting Highlights

A happy sunny Tuesday to all of our Toastmasters.

Ga Lok was standing in as President and introduced the idea of empathy being a keep skill that every Toastmaster develops because they experience such a diverse group and a variety of speeches.

Our Toastmaster this evening was Marcelo, he shared many experiences and lessons learned, including his development at Toastmasters that helped him land his successful new career.

Time was monitored by Dimos, who kept us on time throughout the evening.

Rachel was our Table Topics Master, using the theme of holidays as the basis for impromptu speaking for our members and guests.

Leigh was our Topics Evaluator; giving encouragement and insightful feedback to all table topics that had plenty of guests.

We had 2 great speeches tonight at the start of the second half (their speech evaluators in brackets):

  • Ada – “Home is where the heart is” – an thoughtful reflection of her journey and adventures, concluding with the true meaning of home (Jack)
  • Ga Lok– “A breeze of fresh air” – The history and impact made by designer Patricia Moore (Charlotte).

Congratulations this evening to Jack on his story of an embarrassing moment of dribbling who won best Table Topic; Ada who has started her journey with a wonderful icebreaker this evening.
