ACTS of a Winning Humorous Speech workshop – 27th August

Have you ever listened to a humorous speech and thought, ‘I could never do that?’ Are you convinced that you are not ‘funny’, or nothing ‘funny’ happens around you worth talking about?’ Nowadays, more and more people are discovering the confidence to speak out in public; the ability to connect with audiences using humour is fast becoming a valuable speaking competence that will help you stand out as a speaker.

Humerous Speech Workshop

The Toastmasters’ Humorous Speech Contest is a platform to showcase how to apply this competence to a speech.  With this annual contest being held on Tuesday 17th September are you confident enough to step on the stage?

Come along to ‘ACTS of a Winning Humorous Speech’ where Ola Aralepo, member of Tube Talk, public speaking trainer with Speakers Trust  and comedian, will share a few tips and tools that helped him write a speech that eventually won the UK and Ireland Humorous Speech contest in 2011. With these tips, you will feel equipped to write a humorous speech that will leave you walking off the stage feeling like a winner everytime, even if you don’t walk off with the actual trophy.

The workshop will be at our usual meeting venue: St Botolph Church, Aldgate High Street, London EC2M 3TL (between Liverpool Street Station and Aldgate Station). Doors open at 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start.
